Type in space & reductive screen print
For my graduate typography class, we were prompted to explore type in space. Eager to portray a feminist message, I was inspired at the thought of shattering a glass ceiling. From there, I decided to instead depict the dismanteling of a core issue. Using white vinyl cut letterforms, I created signs from glass panels that read 'white male privilege.' I then smashed each sign with a sledgehammer and photographed the aftermath. The following semester, I chose to recreate a photograph of my type in space project as a reductive monochromatic screen print (edition of 10).
